If you're interested in Spatial AI, it's worth occasionally looking at the technology that's been making computers spatially aware for decades: Geographic Information Systems. Esri's **2026 Emergency Management + Public Works Meetup** will demonstrate how ArcGIS is used to understand what's happening where—monitoring incidents in real time, analyzing geographic patterns, coordinating resources, managing infrastructure, and connecting field operations with spatial data. That's highly relevant to our broader interest in teaching computers to understand and interact with the physical world—even though this event itself is not billed as a Spatial AI or AI event.
