It's Just an API Call: And Other Lies We Tell Ourselves About Cloud Hosted AI When we frame cloud-hosted AI as "just an API call," we inherit a set of assumptions that stopped being true somewhere between prompt injection and autonomous agents driving their first end-to-end enterprise breaches. This session walks the attack surface as it is today, referencing incidents from recent months, then follows the qualitative break as we hand these systems tools, identity, credentials, and the ability to act on our behalf. We will close with three concrete actions any cloud security practitioner can take this quarter, before the next agent ships, to enhance their cloud security posture.
